【Live Rakugo in English】　Shinoharu Tatekawa

 Rakugoka (Storyteller) “Shinoharu Tatekawa”, graduaded from Yale Univ. USA, will perform live in English at the restaurant 「Toyama Hamasaku」at Nihonbashi Toyama-kan.

「What’s Rakugo?」

 Rakugo is the traditional Japanese art of storytelling. It was developed as a form of entertainment for citizens during the Edo Period (1603-1868).

 Dressed in a kimono, the Rakugoka remains seated throughout the performance, playing the parts of several characters and acting out different scenes with only a fan and a hand towel as props.

 The punch line is known as the 「Ochi」, and a good delivery is essential to a successful performance. An alternative pronunciation of 「Ochi」is 「Raku」, the source of the art’s name.

昨年に引き続き、立川志の春さんが英語で独演落語会を披露！！

 

　立川志の輔一門　三番弟子真打、そしてアメリカのイェール大学を卒業したバイリンガルの立川志の春さんをお迎えし、オール英語での独演落語会を開催いたします。英語落語会の後は、志の春さんを囲んで懇親会をお楽しみください。「落語を英語で披露する」という非常に珍しい、またとない機会をどうぞお見逃しなく、奮ってご参加ください。（英語落語の世界観を損なわないように、日本語の通訳なしでの独演会となります事をご了承願います。）

　尚、今回は売上金の一部を令和６年能登半島地震の義援金として寄付させていただきます。
